WHAT WE DO
Ciudad Juarez, Mexico is known as one of the most dangerous cities in the world. What about its people?
Our Mission
Our mission is to share the love of God with those who need it the most. How? By serving our community. We strive to show them that they are loved not only by us but by our Saviour Jesus Christ. The help we offer is not only what we provide. We try to be a part of their lives by providing food, medical/dental care, and educational scholarships.
Community Diner
Poverty has been an ongoing issue in the border city of Ciudad Juarez.
It is estimated that out of the 1.5 million inhabitants 22% suffer from moderate to extreme poverty.
No money. = No food.
Many families struggle to feed their children and senior family members. That is why we set out to provide meals for those in need. We serve warm meals to at least 60 people both children, and seniors, 3-5 times a week.
Medical and Dental Clinic
In 2004 a medical clinic was constructed in order to help the community of Tierra Nueva in Ciudad Juarez. Since then, many people have worked hard to provide medical help and medication to low-income families in the area. The patients are examined by a professional, and they are given the full treatment at no cost. They may give a small donation if they desire, but it is not mandatory.
Through the years we also saw a need of a dental help in the area. As many know, dental procedures are very expensive. We decided to take action and offer dental procedures at a fraction of the cost. Extractions, fillings, root canal, and even braces are offered to the people at very low costs.
Scholarship Program
Public school education should be free in Mexico, per its constitution. While access to public school is free, families are still expected to pay for other expenses such as uniforms, transportation, and even books. All these expenses add up to be a heavy toll on parents due to low income.
University is more affordable in Mexico than in the United States. Even then, many students do not attend college due to a lack of income. Some decide to work and study, which affects them physically and mentally. We want to ensure that every student has a shot at an education.
The Wesley Foundation Community Fund was founded in 2004. The fund has served many students over the years, some from primary school to college. In 2018, when Ministerios Angeles de Esperanza was founded, it was absorbed as a scholarship program. The goal is still the same: Help low-income students achieve their educational goals.
We are actively looking for sponsors who are willing to adopt a student and help them on their educational journey. If you or someone you know would be interested please send us an email so we can get to work!
